disaster risk reduction
Fire + Flood Preparedness
Welcome to the REROC Disaster Risk Reduction Project
Project Overview:
This project is dedicated to enhancing disaster management planning within REROC Member Councils. By identifying current gaps and leveraging community insights, we aim to bolster resilience and reduce risks posed by natural hazards across our region. Through comprehensive mapping tools and collaborative workshops, we seek to empower communities and councils to proactively prepare for and mitigate disaster impacts.
Key Objectives:
Gap Analysis: Assess strengths, risks, and vulnerabilities to enhance community resilience.
Community Engagement: Utilise local experiences to inform effective disaster preparedness strategies.
Regional Collaboration: Partner with councils and state agencies to optimize project delivery.
Framework Development: Integrate Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) into Local Government’s planning processes.
Resource Development: Create sustainable resources accessible through the REROC website for ongoing community support.
The Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (DRRF) is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales governments.
