Take Charge hits the road in 2018!

This year the Take Charge team are on the road to deliver four regional Take Charge Leadership workshops throughout the REROC LGAs.

May 2018 saw the Take Charge team in Tumut and Walla Walla to deliver the first round of the Take Charge Leadership workshops with 90 students from Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, Gundagai, Billabong and St Paul’s High Schools participating in the workshops.

This year the Take Charge team have engaged the FRANK Team to deliver workshops that inspire students with tips and tools on the art of great communication, spot leadership traits in themselves and develop skills to become great leaders in their local communities.  We are also working again with The Mindful Warrior – Ms Anna Gannon to deliver her Mindfulness program with the students.  Students attending the Take Charge workshops are guided through discussion, tapping techniques, meditation and a spot of chair yoga, all tools they can take with them to assist in restoring balance within their lives when things get a bit difficult e.g. stress around exam time.

It has been fantastic to see just how many students are already members of local youth councils or actively volunteering in their local community whether it be by umpiring at the local football club, helping run the canteen on game day, tutoring primary school students or helping at the local church we have some incredible students that at a young age are already making valuable contributions to their communities.
