    About Us
The Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) is a voluntary association of councils located in the eastern Riverina region of NSW. REROC’s Waste Forum is one of 8 Voluntary Regional Waste Groups operating in NSW.

The Members of the Waste Forum are: Bland Shire Council, Coolamon Shire Council, Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, Greater Hume Shire Council, Junee Shire Council, Lockhart Shire Council, Temora Shire Council, and Wagga Wagga City Council.

    The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and qualified Waste and Sustainability Project Officer to work with the REROC Waste Forum on the delivery of a wide variety of waste and sustainability projects at a regional level.

This role is responsible for the delivery of innovative behaviour change programs and waste education to residents, schools and community groups in the REROC Region including the delivery of REROC’s annual No Time to Waste conference. The position also facilitates regional solutions for waste management issues including regional procurement activities relating to waste. This position plays an important role in planning, preparing and implementing waste reduction, resource recovery and circular economy projects and programs to support the delivery of REROC’s Regional Waste Management Strategy. The REROC Waste Forum has a history of delivering award winning projects that focus on the needs of rural and regional communities.

The position would ideally suit applicants with a tertiary qualification in environmental management, environmental science, sustainability, waste management/sustainability education or related discipline with proven experience in delivery across similar areas.

You will have demonstrated understanding and experience in behavioural change programs, waste education campaigns, community engagement and project management as well as possessing well-developed written and oral communication skills to successfully deliver presentations and projects. A good understanding of key environmental sustainability issues, such as waste avoidance and minimisation, resource recovery, recycling, waste processing and the circular economy would also be an advantage.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered with the successful candidate, however the expectation is that the successful applicant will be located within the REROC Region and available to work at our offices in Wagga Wagga when required.
